How Do I Add a Sensor Using My PC?
Answer:
Provision a Primary Receiver Node (PRN) using Windows® and a USB Connection
- Open Device Manager
- Expand Ports (COM & LPT)
- Plug PRN into USB port on Windows® machine
- Note: the COM port next to the newly displayed USB Serial Device
- Example: USB Serial Device (COM3)
- Note: the COM port next to the newly displayed USB Serial Device
- Open terminal emulator such as PuTTY, Tera Term, etc.
- Select Serial button
- Input 115200 in the speed field
- Input COM3 in the serial line field (using example in 3.a.i)
- Click Open
- Input JR (this command erases the table of sensors on the PRN)
- Input J1 (this command enables joining mode)
- Look for desired sensor’s ID to display within terminal emulator
- Input J0 (this command disables joining mode)
- Input LA? (this command displays the sensors that are currently joined)
- Close terminal emulator
- Unplug PRN from USB port on Windows® machine
